You're Invited: CURSOR05 Release Party (+ cover reveal)
More on CURSOR05, releasing 11th April at Råhuset!
Hi to all CURSOR-cuties, new and old!
Today I’m excited because I get to invite you officially to the Attention! release party.
Party with us and our great DJ lineup ranging from pop/rnb beats to bratty electroclash and 90s garage. We’ll showcase some of the video work you can find in the issue, and the physical issue will be available to purchase at the bar - we’ll also be bringing a few copies of CURSOR04, so come collect your CURSOR fan-points. We hope to see you there!
Not in Copenhagen? We expect you to be ready to log in on cursormag.net on the day to read our brand new issue.
Attention! Thursday Bar on Thursday 11 April, 19-23 (Råhuset, Vesterbro)
Join us for the first-ever CURSOR Party as we celebrate the Attention! theme the only way you can celebrate Attention! - with loud music and cold beverages at Råhuset, supported by Vesterbros Lokaludvalg. Have a drink or two, learn more about all the ways our attention is pulled and focused, and come say hi!
You can read up on the event on Facebook, Råhusets own site [in Danish], or get a gcal link here.
The event is free. If you have any video art or similar you’d like to exhibit, get in touch with anna@cursromag.net.
On the new issue (+ cover reveal)
We’re releasing the issue on the 11th April online, together with a website rebrand - this means cursormag.net will be closed a few days leading up to. If you have contributed to the magazine in the past, all slugs should be the same, but we’d encourage you to check in case you’re linking your work anywhere.
For this issue we have 10 attention-grabbing pieces by a variety of authors - all new to CURSOR! Attention is potentially our broadest theme yet, and interpretations range from how technology in urban landscapes directs our attention in a very literal sense to more abstract musings that imagine our attention spans as a fishbowl.
For print we are going back to our zine-format for a more compact issue, this time designed by Marina Cardoso. Marina is a super talented London-based graphic designer - you can find her work here.
Next theme?
We’ll release the next theme on 11 April (so two newsletter in short succession - sorry!), but keep your eyes peeled. We’ll be looking for people helping with the magazine and events as well, so you can already now think about anything cool you’d like to contribute with to CURSOR.
Thank you for being part of CURSOR - we are so excited to celebrate with you soon!
xoxo
Anna
