CURSOR 6: PLAY release party
We’re in the final sprint to get ready for CURSOR: PLAY, releasing on thursday 7 november at Villa Kultur from 17.30-21. For this issue, we’ve decided to host a chill lounge and have been supported by Villa Kultur, lending us their gorgeous Orangerie, and Snabslanten who have helped fund the event. Join us for a drink, an introduction to the issue, buy physical copies of CURSOR 06 and 05, hear about (and ask any questions you may have) about our upcoming game jam, and get your very own tarot card reading.
As the event is short and tarot card readings are limited, we recommend coming early.
When: Thursday 7 november, 17.30-21
Where: Villa Kultur, Krausesvej 3, 2100 København
There is no sign-up required for the event itself, but there will be a physical sign-up for the tarot reading.
CURSOR x PLAYjam: Full-day event
Can’t get enough of CURSOR:PLAY? We’re closing off our theme with a PlayJam - a full-day “hackathon” where you’ll be working on your own game (but of course with a CURSOR spin). No prior experience is required and we define games loosely - make a pixel game, an interactive story, or finish an existing project. The day will start off with a collective brainstorm too.
Our play jam is an invitation to dive into play in all its forms—digital and analogue, experimental and interactive. Beyond just making games, this is a space to explore and create playful experiences, from toys and media to inventive programming and hands-on playthings. The guidance of mentors will be on hand to spark ideas and offer support as you experiment and create. This event complements our magazine issue on play, inviting everyone to rethink what play can mean.

CURSOR association: Join and become part of steering CURSOR
We have always prided ourselves in being a collective where we define members loosely, however as we grow, being loosely defined has come with some challenges. We have therefore decided to officially incorporate as an association (“forening”) in Denmark! This will enable us to apply for funding, as well as incorporate volunteers & members more formally in the decision-making process.

Members will receive “official” CURSOR news directly, but we will still use the Discord channel as an official channel for announcements as well. Our strategy meetings that we’ve had in CURSOR HQ will also become annual general assemblies, so you as a member can more directly come with feedback and suggestions for the CURSOR year ahead.
Future volunteers will be asked to agree to be part of the membership database as well, so we can keep in touch with all you wonderful people who’ve helped us in events, publishing, and more.
And lastly - if you’re looking for an in to volunteer with CURSOR, this is it! We’re especially looking for people interesting in fundraising, printing admin for our next issue (primarily load will be in march/april), as well as social media/discord management.
