CURSOR in 2026
A glimpse into the year, future plans and more immediate plans.
I was contemplating on starting this newsletter with an Aprils Fools, but all my ideas were too depressing. Instead I want to start by welcome you to spring - if you’re living near the CURSOR HQ, the clocks have changed, the sun is out (somewhat), and thus (some) winter depression is slowly lifting.

The next issue of CURSOR will be our 8th issue with the theme Enclosures. We have so many lovely submissions, so we appreciate your patience as we read them through & get back to you all. If you have any questions around the magazine, please email Maya at maya@cursormag.net.
CURSOR 2026
If you’re a member of the association CURSOR, or on our Discord, we posted the minutes of our General Assembly and our financial report, which for us also works as a sort of document outlining our strategy for the year 2026.
TLDR;
As the core CURSOR team (Anna, Maya & Mia) are becoming real adults with actual jobs, we’re moving towards being more sustainable with the time and effort running CURSOR takes. There will this year therefore only be one issue
One of our main priorities for the year are also becoming better at planning ahead for our magazine distribution and developing partnerships with stockists

Upcoming events
Our first event for 2026 is already happening in two weeks, all through the courtsey of Klara and Mathilde. Klara and Mathilde are two ITU students who are writing their bachelor dissertation on the workshop as a method, specifically in regards to understanding the invisible labour behind digital platforms. They’ll be presenting their workshop on 11 april, at Ungdommens Demokratihus. The event is totally free, and you can sign up here.
April is a busy month, and we’re excited to host another More Than A Bookclub with Kritik Digital. More Than A Bookclub is a casual space focused around a topic and an easy-access package of materials such as short videos, memes, articles, apps, etc. This edition is on The Ideology of Silicon Valley, and happening the 16th April 17-18.30 at Ungdommens Demokratihus. We’re also working on a slightly bigger/longer event… the 2nd edition of CURSORs Creative Coding Camp 2026. We are still waiting for some funding to settle the last details, but as of now we have a date (26-28th June) and a venue (Ungdomsøen) and we couldn’t be more excited. Much more info to come, but mark your calendars, and let us know if you’re fancy workplace would like to throw us a coin or two.
Call for volunteers
CURSOR is always open to your great workshop ideas, and helping you make them happen, but if you’re looking for very concrete ways to be part of CURSOR, we’ve tried mapping out some possible roles:
Creative Coding Camp
Someone to reach out & help coordinate workshops
A graphic designer to help us put together some graphics.

Print distribution: We are looking for someone who can reach out to bookstores, art galleries, and cafes and set up deals re. getting the physical magazine out. This includes lots of emailing and coordinating people to get the magazines out. If you are interested, email Mia at mia@cursormag.net.
Funding & events: We are generally looking for people who can assist or coordinate funding & events - this could be specifically for our launch in september, or working with us to coordinate workshops that come up during the year. Reach out to me at anna@cursormag.net if you’re more funding-interested & mia@cursormag.net for the more events-based role.
If you see the possibility of a role for something that we haven’t mentioned, do reach out to either of us - we’d love to involve you any way we can!
