Creative Coding Camp 2026
Last chance to apply for a weekend summer camp for 18-30 year olds on an island 30 minutes outside Copenhagen.
Hello CURSORs!
Today’s newsletter comes with one specific purpose: To inform you about and implore you to apply to the CURSOR Creative Coding Camp 2026. You can skip this entire email and just read the link, but otherwise, we’ve collected a bit of a pitch for you here.
Applications close soon, so apply now here.
What is it?
The CURSOR Creative Coding Camp is our attempt at combining a summer camp with a hackathon and adding a CURSOR flavour. In 2023 we hosted this for the first time in London, where we explored the theme “Off the Grid”. This year, we’re hosting the first Creative Coding Camp in Copenhagen - or rather, at the island of Ungdomsøen.
The Creative Coding Camp combines workshops and group work, where participants will be introduced to concepts around coding & designing projects based on concepts. At the end of the camp, the projects will be displayed in a mini project report that will be published in the forthcoming issue of CURSOR. Participants are also invited to exhibit the projects at the upcoming launch party for the issue.
This year, the theme is Enclosures, and we’re exploring:
Bodies: How does technology create/destroy/shape the boundaries between the body and technology?
Space: How are spaces both physically and digitally being constricted, and how is it affecting our experience of these spaces?
Time: How is time restricted and given through means of technology - and who controls time?
Who should apply?
If you are 18-30 years old, available all 3 days, and interested in working closely together with others on exploring one of the above topics, we implore you to apply. You also need to be a resident in Denmark at the time of the camp, as the goal with this coding camp is to foster a community that can also participate in future events. We can potentially make some exemptions, e.g. if you are moving soon but haven’t moved yet, or are living in Malmø - just add this to your application.
There are no requirements re coding skills beforehand.
What does it cost?
It is free to participate, with all meals covered! Other fun snacks or drinks have to be purchased yourself on the island though - and we only cover the ferry to/from Nyhavn. This is possible thanks to NordeaFonden, who are funding the camp experience!
If you have any questions, email anna@cursormag.net!
We look forward to seeing your application <3
xoxo
